I love playing with my "garage sale" finds. Recently I have seen many projects with sunflowers, I guess everyone is tired of the cold and snow and want a little reminder of summer in these cold months. I wanted to make one out of the plates but thought the clear center just isn't right, so I decided to plate the center with a granite brown glass. I thing the results are great as you can hang this plate either one the front or the back for a different look. Looks great in the window and will bring a bit of summer in all year long.

Flea market finds make great panels...
We went to the annual town flea market not far from home as we do every year. I found some interesting glass dishes and seen a lid to what may have been a candy dish for .25 and thought what a cool flower center it would make. I worked up some petals and made these 3 panels. Each one is different and unique in there own way. I think they came out pretty cool.

Natalie's Panel
This is a panel I am doing for my granddaughter Natalie. It is long overdue but had a hard time finding the right pattern for her room that her Mom did an awesome job with. I searched many pattern sites and came across a name panel I liked but wasn't the right name. I contacted the designer and asked if she could make a Natalie for me. Thank you Marion at PDQpatterns.
I made the panel in copper foil and it will be framed in wood made by her granddad so it sure will be a labor of love.
Here are a few pics of the panel being made and also a picture of Natalie's beautiful bedroom it will be going.

This panel I did for my granddaughter Ava Sophie. My friend Denise Rogers designed this for me as I am not a pattern maker. I gave her the letter style and what I wanted and she hit it right on.

Wow I never realized how long it been since I updated this site. Its been a busy time for me, I had 3 granddaughters enter my life, Natalie Grace born Sept 22, 2009- Ava Sophie born Dec 22, 2009 and Abigail Elizabeth born Jan 25, 2010. We also had a wedding on Oct 10th for my son and his wife Marcy.
Had a fairly good show season and had some commission work from them. I will be posting the pics of some of my recent work

Well its been a very busy summer. I started out buying a new piece of equipment a kiln. Having tons of fun playing with it. Went to two glass factories Wissmach and Youghiogheny which was tons of fun. I now have plenty of glass to keep me busy for a while.

Been busy
Wow!! Been away for a while and many things have changed. Since january the ballerina has been finished and is in its new home. Also made a second panel for her and have entered the world of lead.I really enjoyed the lead process as it is quite a change from the foil. I have played with wire and also crossed over to the warm side. Yes I purchased a kiln and cant wait to get it home.
Below are the things I have been doing and will try to keep up.

I can see clearly now
Well its been a long process, but I can see so much better now. I never realized how bad my eye was until I got my new glasses and can see the world clearly now. The colors are so much brighter and can see how dusty my home really was. I've been busy cleaning and getting the home ready for the winter. They forcast our first snow tonight so I guess I'm ahead of the game.
I have been asked to sell my glass at a local craft show in late Nov. I have been busy making some small items I hope sell well. I've made some beveled snowflakes, hearts and bell ornaments. My only problem now is trying to figure out how to display them as I only get a 6-8' table and no electricity near me. Wish me luck.

Wish me luck
Tomorrow is my eye surgury. I sure hope when all is done I will see clearly again. It's no fun trying to do things with a blurry eye. I will have to take its easy for a little bit, but cant wait to get back to cutting glass without the aide of magnifiers.

I got another ribbon
I just found out that my Santa panel posted below got a 3rd place ribbon at the fair. Not bad. Last year my lighthouse came in 2nd and went on to get honorable mention and the state. Guess I have to keep trying for the blue.
